Event Duration Monitor example data

This level dataset shows the level data for our Event Duration Monitors – monitors at combined sewer overflows showing the height of the sewage flow in our network at any given time. We have published it to support our EDM alarm challenge

The first column shows the ID number that links to a specific monitor. The second is a date and time stamp, with the third being the level of the sewage at that time. For most monitors this is in mm, but for a small number this is the percentage level. The list of which monitors measure percentage levels is in the file ‘ Site and monitor information for the Bath catchment.’

Initially we published 2 years of data (where available) up until March 2019. We have subsequently shared a further 12 months of this data - these two files can be found in this data set.

The level at which the EDM monitor alarms is shown in the file titled ‘ Site and monitor information for the Bath catchment’.

The CSO schematic PDF file then shows the flow relationships between the pumping stations (data can be found in the pumping station dataset )and EDM monitors. It is a representation of the network and is not drawn to scale.

The CSO information summary file details the EDM and SPS sites and which E/B numbers (run stop and level signals) match to each site.

It also has some qualitative information on the EDM levels data quality, whether they measure in mm or %, and the level at which they alarm.

We have also provided the 15 minute level flow data for the water recycling centre, flow data for a sewage pumping station and location data for the CSOs and SPSs.
